Antoine Semenyo could be handed new deal amid Tottenham Hotspur links

Antoine Semenyo could land a new deal, according to Mick Brown, amid recent reports linking him to clubs like Tottenham.

According to Mick brown on Football Insider, Antoine Semenyo could be in line for a new deal at Bournemouth amid heavy interest from Premier League rivals. Tottenham are one of the sides eager to land the Ghanaian winger, which could see the Cherries offer him an improved deal to ward off suitors.

Antoine Semenyo has been linked to a move elsewhere in transfer stories after an impressive start to the new season. Before this term, Semenyo only had average performances, although the departure of Dominic Solanke has given the Ghanaian more importance in the team.

He has three goals and an assist this season, and talk of a move away in January has ramped up. Newcastle United are interested, while Tottenham are also keen, as both sides are looking at a wide attacker ahead of the next market.

Some reports have stated Bournemouth will demand a significant price point as they have the luxury to do so, considering Semenyo only signed a new deal back in the summer. Hence, for clubs to take him away, they will have to pay what’s necessary to move forward.

Considering the level of interest from big clubs, Bournemouth might be powerless to stop Semenyo from leaving. However, in light of the reported interest, Mick Brown has suggested that the Cherries might look to ward off suitors by offering Semenyo a bumper new deal, although he also strongly hinted that it could be a big strategy from the 24-year-old Premier League star’s agents.

Mick Brown said, “I’m told a lot of this talk is agent-led.” “They’re putting out the word to their client to drum up interest in his signature. That could land him a new deal at Bournemouth because it’s a two-way thing.”

“I know the club think highly of him and don’t want to see him leave so they could discuss a new contract to put off interest. But the agent will be saying that if they don’t offer a contract, there’s now interest from other clubs, so it’s a win-win situation for them.”

Does Tottenham hope to end with the Semenyo deal?

Semenyo might have signed a new deal back in the summer, which reportedly lets him pocket £50,000-a-week in wages, and he has five more years left on the agreement. A new contract to ward off suitors so soon might be fantasy talk, although it remains a possibility, which would undoubtedly kill all reports linking Semenyo with a move away.

As things stand, reports suggest Semenyo is open to joining Spurs. Hence, Tottenham would want to understand his situation better, as they are in a good position to make a decent offer for the 24-year-old Premier League star. However, should he get a new deal and sign it, it would end Spurs’ hopes of a transfer, as they would then look at other alternatives.
