Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland is keen on continuing at the club and he looks all set to pen a new deal.
According to a report from Marca, Erling Haaland has already made a decision regarding his future. The Norwegian international has no intention of leaving Manchester City at this point in time and he is already in talks with the club over a new deal.
Haaland made the move to England in the summer of 2022 and he seems to have taken his game to another level under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. The 24-year-old striker has broken records for fun. He has bagged 103 goals in just 110 outings. He even has 14 assists to his name.
The former Borussia Dortmund star already has 13 goals in his 12 outings. He seems all set to have another blockbuster of a season for the English giants. His sensational rise hasn’t gone unnoticed and the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with the Norwegian international.
While recent reports have suggested that Haaland could look to switch clubs next summer, he hasn’t asked to leave the Premier League giants. The former Dortmund striker is keen on continuing at City for the time being and looks all set to sign a new contract.
A new deal for Erling Haaland
His current deal runs until the summer of 2027 but to secure his long-term future at the club, Guardiola’s team want to offer him a new deal with improved terms. They are already in talks with the player’s camp regarding a possible contract extension.
Haaland has always had the final call on his future as his contract with Dortmund as well as RB Salzburg included a bargain release clause helping him have full control of his future. The contract he penned at City also has a similar clause.
The Norwegian striker will be free to leave as soon as an interested club triggers his release. His contract reportedly has a release clause worth €70 million but it is only valid for a selected number of clubs with the majority of English top-flight clubs not on that list.
With talks over a new deal already initiated, it will be interesting to see what impact the new deal will have to on the long-term future of Haaland.
