Joshua Zirkzee agrees to join Juventus

Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly said yes to a return to Serie A and joining Juventus ahead of the January window to reunite with Thiago Motta.

According to Juve-Live, Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly agreed to the prospect of joining Juventus ahead of the January window. Such a move would see the £36 million Manchester United signing reunite with former manager Thiago Motta as he seeks to grow his confidence back.

Manchester United could be a daunting place where the expectations are sky high and the pressure right from the get-go. In Joshua Zirkzee’s case, a £36 million summer signing from Bologna, he started his time at Old Trafford with a winning goal against Wolves but has fallen off ever since.

Since Manchester United’s defeat at the hands of Tottenham at Old Trafford, Erik Ten Hag has drastically reduced Zirkzee’s minutes. From a starter to a bench player who gets minimum time on the pitch, mainly due to Rasmus Hojlund’s return to fitness, as media stories have already begun linking the striker away from the club.

Zirkzee might be interested in returning to Serie A, where there’s still sufficient interest. AC Milan was keen to add him and fought hard until they could not agree to pay his agents what they demanded to complete the transfer. Manchester United, with their financial firepower, managed to get the deal over the line, although the English media has already labelled the striker as a ‘flop’.

Either way, Zirkzee might look to leave the club in January to regain form and confidence. Such an idea has stemmed the possibility of Zirkzee reuniting with his former Bologna Manager, Thiago Motta, now at Juventus.

Zirkzee agrees to join Juventus?

Juventus holds an interest in Zirkzee alongside a few of their Serie A rivals, as the report states the striker has reportedly agreed to join the Bioanconeri. This might come as a bit surprising given how little time he has spent in Manchester United, as they specifically signed him with the long-term future in mind.

The report also states Juventus would ponder making a loan approach for the £36 million Manchester United signing, which the Red Devils might agree upon. Hence, there’s every likelihood that such a move might be designed to help the striker gain his stride before returning to Old Trafford with renewed enthusiasm.
