Inter Milan are all set to battle it out with Arne Slot’s Liverpool for the services of Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi.
According to a report from InterLive, Inter Milan are keen on signing Karim Adeyemi and they are all set to rival Liverpool in the race to his signature. The Italian giants have a long-standing interest in Borussia Dortmund and they could finally look to bringing him to San Siro.
Adeyemi made a name for himself while playing for Red Bull Salzburg. He made the move to the German club in the summer of 2022. While the 22-year-old winger didn’t find it easy to adjust to life at Dortmund, he has finally managed to showcase the true potential he possesses.
He struggled last season with just seven goal contributions in his 34 outings but seems to have taken his game to another level this time out as he has five goals and five assists in his eight outings. While the German youth international prefers playing on the left flank, he is well capable of starting on the opposite flank or as a number nine.
His contract with Dortmund runs until the summer of 2027 but he could be on the move in the near future as multiple top clubs want to sign him. Liverpool are one of the clubs who are interested in the winger. The Reds want to reinforce their attack with Mohamed Salah’s long-term future uncertain and Adeyemi could be a great signing for the short as well as the long run.
Inter battle Liverpool for Adeyemi’s signature
While the Merseyside are serious contenders for his signature, they will face competition from Inter Milan who have been monitoring the young winger for years. He has been on their radar since his days at Salzburg. They failed to sign him back then but their interest remains intact and they are exploring a potential deal now.
People at the Italian club believe the 22-year-old could help them take the next step. His versatility could make them a lot more threatening going forward. But, signing him won’t be easy as Dortmund want at least €50 million to sanction his departure.
Inter can’t afford that big a fee unless they manage to offload Marcus Thuram for around €80 million which doesn’t really look very likely.
