Everton are reportedly looking to reinforce their attack by signing AC Milan attacking sensation Samuel Chukwueze.
Everton could go big in the winter transfer window in an attempt to reinforce their attack after a poor start to the new season. According to Gazzetta dello Sport via TBR Football, the Toffees are looking at AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze as an ideal fit for their system and could soon knock on the doors of the Italian giants.
Chukwueze came up the ranks at Villarreal and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team before making the move to Milan in the summer of 2023. In his debut season for the Rossoneri, he was involved in 33 matches but racked up less than 1,400 minutes.
Nothing much has improved as he remains a backup option at the Serie A club. While he has been involved in eight games this season, the 25-year-old has racked up less than 200 minutes of first-team action. The Nigerian international’s contract at the club runs until the summer of 2028. But given how things have gone so far, he could be on the move in the near future.
Everton reignite interest in Chukwueze
Everton were interested in signing him back in 2022 even before he made the move to Milan. While things did not work out back then, they have reignited their interest in him and could soon make a move for his services.
The Merseyside club have been up against FFP constraints, and they have been forced to work with limited budgets. But, with the Freidkin Group’s takeover expected to be complete before the turn of the calendar, Sean Dyche will surely have some funds to reinforce his squad.
The Everton manager seeks more firepower in the attacking unit, and they are interested in signing Milan winger Chukwueze. The Merseyside outfit feel the Nigerian international is a perfect fit for their system and having held talks with him back in 2022, they are confident about agreeing personal terms with him.
The report suggests that AC Milan do not consider him an important part of their plans, and they are ready to negotiate his departure. They won’t mind selling him in the winter, and an offer worth around £11 million could be enough to get it over the line. Everton can surely afford to pay that kind of fee if their takeover goes according to plan.
