Newcastle United and Crystal Palace keen on Antony

Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are both keen on signing Manchester United flop Antony.

Manchester United have finally made a decision regarding the future of Antony. They have decided to part ways with the Brazilian winger who has struggled to get going at Old Trafford. According to a report from CaughtOffside, rivals Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are both interested in signing the former Ajax forward.

Antony made quite a name for himself while playing for the Dutch club. His consistent performances and huge potential resulted in a big-money move to United. The Red Devils forked out a fortune to bring him to the club and Erik ten Hag was keen on having him in his squad.

But, the move hasn’t gone according to plan. The 24-year-old right-winger has struggled to deliver at Old Trafford. He hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations of playing for the Manchester-based club.

While the Dutch manager did back him in the initial years, Antony seems to have gone down the pecking order under Ten Hag. In the ongoing season, he has only had 139 minutes of first-team action across four outings.

United ready to offload Antony

His contract at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2027 and they even have the option to extend it for another 12 months. But, United seem to have lost patience with him and they have decided to get him off their books when the transfer window reopens in January.

While the Red Devils would love a permanent transfer, they are also open to sanctioning a loan departure as they are aware that clubs might not want to sign him permanently as he has been in poor form and hasn’t had much game time.

Premier League clubs keen on signing Antony

A return to Ajax is an option but there are Premier League clubs who could look to sign the United flop. Newcastle United and Crystal Palace both seek attacking reinforcement and they are believed to be interested in him.

While the Magpies have made a decent start to the new season, they seek more depth on the flanks. Meanwhile, the Eagles haven’t had an ideal start to the campaign and they are in need of more firepower to get things back on track. Antony might not have done well at United but a move elsewhere could provide him with an opportunity to bounce back.
