Liverpool doing due diligence on Vitor Reis

Liverpool are reportedly conducting due diligence on Palmeiras talent Vitor Reis, and an approach could be on the cards.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are doing their due diligence on young target Vitor Reis, who has the interest of other heavyweight clubs, too. The Palmeiras talent has attracted the attention of many suitors, with the Reds eager to understand if a move is within their scope.

Palmeiras have put themselves on the big map for producing some notable talents and may have seen a rise in demand following the success of one Endrick at Real Madrid. The Spanish giants might have opened the doors for the Brazilian side to make some big future dealings after deciding to invest in the young attacker when he was very young.

Either way, Palmeiras have continued to make big sales of young, up-and-coming players since, with Vitor Reis the next in line in that regard. The teenager has already begun to feature in the senior side, as some of the European heavyweights are chasing the teenager, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona

Arsenal and Real Madrid have reportedly made soft approaches for the player, and now, Liverpool is entering the big chase for the teenager. Reis has a mammoth £84 million release clause, although none of the clubs are likely to pay anywhere close to that. Irrespective of how much Palmeiras sells the young centre-back for, he will be an expensive acquisition for those European giants.

Liverpool conducting Reis due diligence

It’s standard practice for clubs to conduct due diligence on a player before a transfer, although this stage is only for players the teams are extremely keen upon. Hence, Liverpool’s doing this for Reis could be a positive sign.

Liverpool might be open to making an approach, as Arne Slot is ready to stamp his authority in the transfer market. The Dutch manager inherited a full squad from his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp, but he only signed Federico Chiesa as his senior signing in the summer.

Hence, one might be curious about what Arne Slot’s singing looks like, and it might be Reis who can give a clear picture of the future. The £84 million-rated Brazilian defender has a big future ahead, and Liverpool could look to develop him into a top-draw defender in the coming years should they end up bringing him to Anfield.
