AC Milan are keen to bring Ismaila Sarr as one of the options they are considering to strengthen their wide attacking areas.
According to Gazzetta, Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr could emerge as a January target for AC Milan. The Rossoneri are eager to strengthen their wide attacking areas, which could also see Samuel Chukwueze depart. They have added the Eagles star as one of their options to come into the squad.
Ismaila Sarr may have finally got his move back to a Premier League club this summer, as Crystal Palace took him from Marseille’s hands for €15 million. The Senegalese winger has not been an exceptional performer so far, but he’s steadily growing into Oliver Glasner’s plans.
Although he has started only one of the seven games in the Premier League so far, the 26-year-old impressed in clashes against Manchester United and Liverpool, where he accepted different attacking roles. He can operate in the false nine role or in his usual wing position as he looks to get back into form with Palace.
However, AC Milan could look to bring the Senegalese attacker to the San Siro, as they are eager to strengthen their wide attacking areas. After the summer window, when the Rossoneri spent a considerable sum on new arrivals, they might be lopsided in the attacking setup.
The arrival of Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham have strengthened their strike department, but the wings are a problem, as Christian Pulisic likes to play more of a central player. They do have Samuel Chukwueze as an out-and-out winger, but there are reports that he could leave the club in January.
Ismaila Sarr as Samuel Chukwueze’s replacement?
The report states that Milan are open to letting Chukwuze leave in January, with a host of Premier League sides chasing the winger. They have some names on their list to replace him with, with Sarr is one of those options. The report suggests that the 26-year-old could cost €15 million, which is also the price Palace paid for him during the summer.
His price does make him an interesting option compared to other targets, which is within Milan’s reach. Now, the transfer will hinge on Sarr’s preference, as he will probably look to continue his development in the Premier League after a brief period in France with Marseille. However, the lure of a club like Milan could also do the trick, as only time will tell whether Palace are open to selling the €15 million-rated attacker.
