Manchester United will reportedly compete with Arsenal and Liverpool to sign 25-year-old Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Omar Marmoush is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Eintracht Frankfurt striker is also a target for Arsenal and Liverpool. However, the two Premier League heavyweights will face stiff competition from Manchester United in the race to sign the 25-year-old from the Bundesliga club.
The rise of Omar Marmoush
Omar Marmoush has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from VfL Wolfsburg in July 2023. A native of Cairo, he was eligible to represent Egypt and Canada in international football.
The 25-year-old has been in Germany since August 2017, joining VfL Wolfsburg from Wadi Degla FC. However, Marmoush has been a productive attacker at Eintracht Frankfurt, contributing to 15 goals in nine appearances across all competitions this term by finding the back of the net nine times and providing six assists. Meanwhile, his progress has not gone unnoticed, alerting high-profile clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United.
A man in demand
Widespread reports have linked Arsenal and Liverpool with the Egyptian international for several months. The two clubs are scouring the market for a striker ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window. Arsenal can do with an alternative to Kai Havertz, especially considering Gabriel Jesus has not made his mark in front of the goal for the North London club.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Omar Marmoush is understandable, considering Darwin Nunez faces an uncertain future at Anfield. However, it is unclear why Manchester United want to sign the Eintracht Frankfurt striker next year.
The Red Devils have signed two strikers in the last 15 months, and they view Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as long-term assets for the central striker’s berth. So, it is unclear how Marmoush might fit into the scheme of things at Manchester United. However, the Egyptian international is keen on moving to the Premier League in the future.
