Fulham ready to offer bumper new deal to Adama Traore

Fulham are ready to offer their attacking mainstay Adama Traore a new deal in an attempt to secure his long-term future.

Adama Traore has made an impressive start to the 2024/25 season. With his contract running out at the end of the season, Fulham are concerned about losing him for nothing and according to a report from the Mirror, the Cottagers are ready to offer him a new deal to extend his stay at the club.

Traore became the talk of the town while playing for Wolves. He used to come on as a super sub and cause havoc in the opposition’s defence with his pace and strength. The 28-year-old winger even had a short loan spell at his childhood club Barcelona in the first half of 2022.

While he did return to Wolves in the summer, the Spanish international parted ways with the club in the summer of 2023 to join Fulham on a free transfer. He didn’t have an ideal debut season as he spent a significant amount of time on the sidelines.

But, Traore has turned things around and has made a flying start to the new campaign. He has started all seven of their Premier League games and has done quite an effective job in the final third. The 28-year-old even has three goal contributions to his name.

He has flourished under Marco Silva and has established himself as a key figure in their team. But, with his contract running out next summer, his long-term future is not certain.

Fulham want to extend Traore’s stay at the club

While the Cottagers do have an option to extend his stay for another 12 months, they want to offer their £65,000-a-week mainstay a new deal with improved terms.

They do not want to risk a situation where he leaves the club as a free agent. Having seen Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Willian leave for nothing in the summer, Silva doesn’t want Traore to follow the same path.

More importantly, they want to secure his long-term future at the club and reward him for the incredible start that he has had. The Spanish international has quite a few years left in him and Fulham want to ensure he spends the best years of his career playing for them.
