According to Paul Robinson on Football Insider, former Tottenham managing director Fabio Paratici is reportedly working on helping the club sign midfield target Samuele Ricci. The Torino midfielder has come in for high demand following some impressive displays in Serie A, as many other clubs are also keen.

The Torino midfielder is in high demand following some impressive displays in Serie A, with a host of other sides also chasing the Italian international.
Robinson said, “They’ve had a lot of success from players who have come to the club from the Serie A, and maybe that’s why Ricci is the latest name to be mentioned.
“It’s still got the fingerprints of Fabio Paratici working with Tottenham’s recruitment team.”
‘Fingerprints of Paratic‘ seems like an understatement, given that the former Managing director did help set up their scouting network and put together an interesting transfer policy. He was given a 30-month worldwide ban from football activities, which saw him leave Tottenham.
When he arrived, Paratici had a hand in signing many players from Serie A, including Cristian Romero, and they have since continued the trend with more signings. Rodrigo Bentancur, Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie and Radu Dragusin all joined Serie A clubs later, which does show that Tottenham has a particular inclination towards players coming from the Italian league.
Paratici might have a big hand in that in an indirect capacity, as there are doubts about whether he can operate directly in their bid to sign Ricci. Spurs are watching the Torino man closely as the 23-year-old emerged as a big target. Whether they are capable of signing him remains to be seen, as more big clubs are keen.
Ricci on the move?
Torino might demand as much as €40 million amid recent interest from Premier League sides, although they might prefer not to sell him in January. The Serie A side are in a good vein of form this season and will have ambitions to finish in European places for which the 23-year-old will be key.
Manchester City are also keen to sign him as a long-term target, as his style would suit many of the top clubs around. Overall, as the season progresses, the 23-year-old will continue to garner more interest from top teams, which would make life difficult for Tottenham in their pursuit of the Italian international.
