Real Madrid revive interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

La Liga champions Real Madrid have reportedly reignited their interest in 23-year-old Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia regarding a deal for next summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions want a deal for the 2025 summer transfer window for the Napoli winger. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants want to tie the Georgian international to a new contract, and the young attacker will likely cost around €74 million next year.

Khvicha Kvaratskheli and his Napoli journey so far

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has established himself as one of the best players in Serie A since joining Napoli from Dinamo Tbilisi in July 2022. The youngster hit the ground running at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium and delivered the Scudetto in his debut season with the Partenopei.

The 23-year-old endured a drop in performance levels last season but has rediscovered his best touch this term. Kvaratskhelia has chipped in with three goals and two assists in nine outings across all competitions thus far this term, forging an exceptional offensive partnership with summer arrival Romelu Lukaku.

However, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s long-term future with Napoli is uncertain, even though he has been in talks with the Serie A club regarding a new contract for a long time. Meanwhile, the Georgian international does not have a shortage of suitors pursuing his signature, with Real Madrid keen on signing him.

Real Madrid calling

Real Madrid’s interest in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is understandable. The reigning La Liga champions are mulling over parting ways with Rodrygo in the 2025 summer transfer window amid his links with Liverpool. So, they should plan to land a replacement, with the Napoli winger emerging as a viable target.

Kvaratskhelia does not rake in an enormous salary, with his current terms giving him €5 million-a-year wages. Napoli will look to improve his payscale and hand him €6 million-a-year terms with the new deal. In addition, the Serie A giants will likely demand around €74 million to part ways with the 23-year-old.

The report creates some doubts regarding Real Madrid’s openness to pay €74 million to sign the Georgian international. While the Merengues should not have any problems improving his €5 million-a-year wages, it will be interesting to see if they cough up the required transfer fee.
