Newcastle United rival Aston Villa, West Ham United in Samuel Chukwueze chase

Newcastle United will reportedly compete with Aston Villa, West Ham United, and Saudi Pro League clubs for AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze next year.

According to a report by Italian outlet Milan Live, Samuel Chukwueuze is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. Aston Villa and West Ham United are also keen on signing the AC Milan winger, and he is also on Saudi Pro League clubs’ radar. Meanwhile, the Serie A giants will likely entertain offers for the Nigerian international if suitors present bids worth €20-25 million.

Samuel Chukwueze and his struggles at AC Milan

Samuel Chukwueze has struggled to stamp his authority since joining AC Milan from Villarreal in July 2023. The Serie A giants considerably bolstered their offensive department last year, with Christian Pulisic and Chukwueze competing for the same spot in the final third.

So, the 25-year-old has missed out, with Pulisic establishing himself as the first-choice right-winger for AC Milan. Chukwueze has managed only 186 minutes of game time across seven appearances in all competitions, while he has yet to find the back of the net this season. However, his stock in the market remains high, with Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and West Ham United interested.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Newcastle United can do with a player like Chukwueze, considering Miguel Almiron faces an uncertain future at St. James’ Park. The Paraguayan international will explore a move away from the Tyneside club in January. So, Newcastle United should pursue a replacement this winter, and the Nigerian international is a viable target.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s interest in Samuel Chukwueze is understandable. The Villans are scouring the market for a wide attacker ahead of the January transfer window as they look to prepare their squad for a fixture pile-up in the second half of the 2024/25 season. So, the AC Milan winger is a viable target for Aston Villa.

As for West Ham United, they need more firepower from the flanks, especially if Mohammed Kudus occupies a central role. So, Chukwueuze is an option worth considering for West Ham. Meanwhile, AC Milan will not demand a premium to part ways with the Nigerian attacker, with the Rossoneri ready to sell him for around €20-25 million.

However, while the 25-year-old winger will be a cost-effective target, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and West Ham United will face stiff competition from Saudi Pro League clubs for him. It will be interesting to see if Chukwueze’s suitors cough up €20-25 million to sign him in the coming weeks.
