Real Madrid looking at Pedro Porro as Trent Alexander-Arnold alternative

Real Madrid could plot a move for Tottenham’s Pedro Porro if the efforts to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold fails ahead of next summer.

According to Caught Offside, Pedro Porro has emerged as a realistic target for Real Madrid. The Madrid club views the Tottenham star as a viable alternative to Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 25-year-old Liverpool star remains Florentino Perez’s top priority, but they are looking at other options in case they cannot sign him.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future could become the most significant source of concern among Liverpool fans, even more than Virgil van Dijk’s or Mohamed Salah’s. The 25-year-old Liverpool star is into the final year of his deal, with strong links to Real Madrid circling, which has come to put the club under tremendous pressure.

Liverpool is prioritising a new deal for the right-back, although things have not moved an inch with regard to talks or at least a verbal agreement of sorts. There’s a feeling that should things drag until the end of the calendar year, Alexander-Arnold will stand a bigger chance of leaving as Real Madrid is already working in the background

Real Madrid sees him as a critical signing for their project, which could further evolve with a new manager once Carlo Ancelotti leaves. They have made some headline signings, such as Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and others, as adding Alexander-Arnold will resolve their long-term issues in the right-back position.

However, they are looking at alternatives to the 25-year-old Liverpool star should he decide to sign a new deal at Anfield. Diogo Dalot was mentioned earlier as an option, but they have other names, such as Pedro Porro of Tottenham, who could be lured with a good proposal in the summer.

Pedro Porro to Real Madrid?

The Tottenham full-back has been a consistent performer for Ange Postecoglou’s side since last season and has a significant presence in the squad. The report states that a €65 million offer could tempt Spurs into opening talks for his sale, which will still be seen as a high number by Real Madrid.

However, should Porro be given a chance to return to his homeland and the prospect of joining Real Madrid, he might opt for it. Hence, there’s every chance the Spurs full-back could make his intentions known if the interest had any legs, but so far, Real Madrid are still angling for a Bosman move for Alexander-Arnold.
