PSG front-runners to sign Mohamed Salah, plan three-year deal

Ligue 1 champions PSG are in the pole position to sign seven-season Liverpool veteran Mohamed Salah in a Bosman move in the 2025 summer transfer window.

According to a report by The Sun, Mohamed Salah is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The seven-season Liverpool veteran is also a target for Saudi Pro League clubs. However, the reigning Ligue 1 champions lead the race to secure the services of the Egyptian attacker, with the club ready to offer him a three-year contract.

The rise and rise of Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah has been one of the best players in the world since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in July 2017. The African attacker was always a highly-rated prospect but could not do justice to his immense potential until he moved to the Merseyside club over seven years ago.

The 32-year-old has gone from strength to strength in the last seven seasons, playing his part in Liverpool winning almost every major trophy. This season, the experienced attacker has shown that he has not lost a step, amassing six goals and five assists in nine appearances across all competitions thus far.

However, Salah’s long-term future with Liverpool is uncertain after entering the final 12 months of his contract with the Merseyside club. While the Reds are relaxed about the Egyptian forward’s situation, the emerging links surrounding their talismanic attacker might put them under pressure. The latest update has suggested that he is a target for Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG move on the cards?

PSG’s interest in Mohamed Salah is understandable. The defending Ligue 1 champions have failed to fill the gaping hole that Kylian Mbappe created with his departure as a free agent in the summer transfer window. In addition, Ousmane Dembele has had a run-in with Luis Enrique, thus worsening the issues for PSG.

So, it is hardly surprising that several candidates, including Mason Greenwood, have emerged on PSG’s radar. However, Salah is also a viable target, even though the seven-season Liverpool veteran is approaching the twilight of his illustrious career. Meanwhile, the Ligue 1 champions are the front-runners to land the 32-year-old.

The report has claimed that PSG will offer the Liverpool talisman a three-year contract. With the Saudi Pro League not enticing the Egyptian international despite the prospect of a lucrative deal, the French giants will feel they have a promising chance of landing the Liverpool veteran.
