Barcelona, Juventus vying for Alejandro Garnacho

Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old Argentine whizkid Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United next year.

According to a report by The Sun, Barcelona and Juventus are keen on signing Alejandro Garnacho. The two European heavyweights are aware that the Manchester United whizkid is not the undisputed first-choice starter for the Premier League club. Meanwhile, the Red Devils value the Argentine international at around £50 million.

The rise and rise of Alejandro Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League since breaking into the first-team squad at Manchester United. A native of Madrid, he spent most of his formative years in Spain but graduated from the youth division at Manchester United.

The 20-year-old was eligible to represent Spain and Argentina in international football, and he has picked the latter as his national side. Garnacho became a regular for Manchester United in his breakthrough campaign and has been a game-changer for the Premier League heavyweights in the last two seasons.

The Argentine international has been hot off the blocks in the 2024/25 season, amassing four goals and three assists in ten appearances across all competitions. However, a few clubs want to take advantage of Garnacho not being the undisputed first-choice attacker for Manchester United, with Barcelona and Juventus his prospective suitors.

Will Garnacho leave Manchester United soon?

Barcelona’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho is understandable. The Blaugrana will likely part ways with Ferran Torres next year. So, they are scouring the market for a long-term replacement for the Spanish international, with several candidates, including Roony Bardghji, emerging on their radar. However, Garnacho is also a viable target for Barcelona.

As for Juventus, Thiago Motta wants more quality in his offensive department, thus setting his sights on the Manchester United whizkid. The Red Devils value the Argentine international at around £50 million. However, the amount might be too high for Barcelona and Juventus, considering both clubs’ financial issues.

However, the price tag of £50 million is fair for a player like Garnacho, considering the duration of his contract, age profile, and potential. It will be interesting to see if Barcelona and Juventus will break the bank to sign the Manchester United attacker next year.
