Arsenal keen on Cristhian Mosquera

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are keen on acquiring the services of Valencia defensive sensation Cristhian Mosquera.

According to a report from TBR, Arsenal are looking to add more quality to their backline in the near future and they are interested in the services of Cristhian Mosquera. With Jakub Kiwior’s future uncertain, the Gunners have their eyes set on the Valencia centre-back.

Mosquera has come up the ranks at the Spanish club. He was promoted to their first team at the start of 2023 and hasn’t looked back since. The 20-year-old defensive sensation has made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances.

He is already one of the mainstays for Valencia at the back but the Spanish youth international might not be around for long as top clubs want to prise him away. With his contract running out in the summer of 2026, Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in signing the young star.

Jakub Kiwior to leave Arsenal?

The Gunners already had a strong defensive setup and they ended up adding Riccardo Calafiori to their squad during the summer. Meanwhile, they also welcomed Jurrien Timber back into the mix after he recovered from his long-term injury. This has seen Jakub Kiwior go down the pecking order under Arteta.

He is unlikely to have an important role in the team and will only get limited game time going forward. While Kiwior’s contract with the North London club runs until the summer of 2028, the 24-year-old Polish defender is expected to be on the move in the near future. He could part ways with the club in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Mosquera to replace Kiwior at Arsenal?

Arsenal have already started planning for life without him and they have identified Mosquera as an ideal replacement. Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the young Spanish centre-back. He has all the qualities to succeed at the top and he could be a great signing in the long run.

The Gunners have been scouting him since the start of the new season and they could soon knock on Valencia’s door. The 20-year-old could start off as an important squad player for Arsenal and eventually become one of their mainstays.
