Arsenal could offer Takehiro Tomiyasu in deal to sign Marcus Thuram

Arsenal could reportedly consider offering Takehiro Tomiyasu in a deal to sign Inter Milana attacker Marcus Thuram.

According to Inter-Live, Arsenal ponder offering Takehiro Tomiyasu for striker Marcus Thuram, as both sides are in need of similar profiles for their squad. The Gunners are keen on the 27-year-old French international, while the Nerazzuri is in the market for defensive reinforcements.

Arsenal is in the market for a new striker to add to their attacking setup, as they might be a forward short of mounting a perfect title challenge. Defensively, they are sound enough to sustain the season, meaning they could have a player or two to dispose of in January.

Arsenal are reportedly open to selling Takehiro Tomiyasu in January following the Japanese international’s consistent fitness issues. The 25-year-old utility man has not featured this season, although when fit, Mikel Arteta tends to select him regularly.

Inter Milan are reportedly keen on Tomiyasu ahead of the January window as they are in need of defensive reinforcements. The Nerazzuri are on the verge of losing Stefan de Vrij, while Francesco Acerbi’s long-term career is in significant doubt due to his advancing age. Hence, the Japanese international would make sense, as the Gunners are open to offering Tomiyasu in an exchange deal.

Arsenal are keen on Marcus Thuram to improve their attacking setup and could reportedly offer Tomiyasu in a deal for the 27-year-old French international. Other stories were insisting the Gunners had a part-exchange plan for Thuram before, but now the Japanese international’s presence would make a lot of sense.

Tomiyasu-Thuram deal would make sense

Inter Milan have financial issues to wants to consider a sale of the 27-year-old French international, mainly because he was signed on a free transfer in 2023. Hence, whatever value he brings to the market would be seen as pure profit by Inter Milan, as getting ZTomiyasu in return would sweeten their side of the deal.

Arsenal would benefit from Thuram’s profile for their attack, as they lack a forward of his style. They do have Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in their ranks, but Arteta seemingly needs someone more. The inclusion of Tomiyasu would help reduce Inter Milan’s asking price for the Frenchman, and should a deal materialise, it would make sense for all parties concerned.
