Liverpool could sign Loic Bade for less than his current release clause, with Sevilla willing to make a concession if a big offer arrives.
According to AS via Sport Witness, Liverpool could advance in their chase of Loic Bade, with the player reportedly available for less than his €60 million release clause. Sevilla might choose to offload the defender for less if they get a big offer in the following windows.
Liverpool can sign Loic Bade for less
Loic Bade has had a good run with the Sevilla side as well as on the international level, having won the Olympic Silver Medal in Paris 2024. The Frenchman has been a solid presence for Los Nervionenses since signing for them in 2023 for about €12 million from Rennes.
His performances have certainly attracted big interest from top clubs, as some were keen to explore a move in the summer. Post the window’s closure; clubs have seen further links, including Liverpool, who are keen on landing a new centre-back.
Sevilla secured a new contract for Bade over in the summer that has seen him commit until 2029 and increase his release clause from €42 million to €60 million. Hence, on ideal terms, the Spanish side would demand the whole sum of the clause to be paid in order to sell him, although the report states that they could give a concession and sell him for less than that.
While Bade is currently happy at Sevilla, a big move to another club could play on his mind ahead of the future. Liverpool are interested in a big way; they are planning on bringing a centre-back, with Bade’s name mentioned more than once in recent times. The idea that they can get the Frenchman for less than his €60 million release clause could pique their interest ahead of the following windows.
Bade is seen as van Dijk’s replacement
Virgil van Dijk’s future is still uncertain as he continues to run down his current deal, which is set to expire next summer. The Dutchman has significant interest from Italy, although there is a chance he could sign a new contract at Liverpool and stay there for a few more years.
Liverpool are eager to hand him a new deal, although in the scenario that van Dijk leaves, they will target the 24-year-old Olympics 2024 silver medalist Bade as a potential replacement. The Reds could also have other names on their list, as replacing the Dutchman is no mean task.
