Newcastle United will demand €100 million to sell Alexander Isak amid PSG links

Newcastle United will demand a nine-figure fee to entertain the idea of selling 25-year-old Swedish striker Alexander Isak, a target for Paris Saint-Germain.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Alexander Isak is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The reigning Ligue 1 champions want to sign the Newcastle United striker next year. However, the 25-year-old will not come cheap, with the Tyneside outfit slapping a price tag of €100 million on him.

The rise and rise of Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak has come leaps and bounds since joining Newcastle United from Real Sociedad in August 2022. While the Swede has struggled with a few fitness issues in the last two years, he has lived up to the billing and justified the immense potential that Borussia Dortmund failed to extract from him a few seasons ago.

The 25-year-old has been a mainstay in the final third for the Tyneside outfit while being a productive performer. Isak has turned out 72 times thus far for Newcastle United while amassing 36 goals and six assists. In addition, the player has become an ever-present figure for Sweden.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak’s exploits for his club and country have not gone unnoticed, alerting high-profile clubs across Europe. Several European bigwigs mulled over signing the Swedish international in the summer transfer window before a move failed to materialise. He is now a target for Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG want Isak

PSG’s interest in Alexander Isak is understandable. The Ligue 1 champions want to sign a prolific striker in the 2025 summer transfer window, especially if Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani fail to prove their worth in the 2024/25 season. So, the Newcastle United mainstay has emerged as a viable target for PSG.

However, the 25-year-old Swede will not come cheap, with Newcastle United slapping a price tag of €100 million on him. Meanwhile, the Magpies want to tie Isak to a new contract to ward off his suitors, but he is taking time to put pen to paper.

A new contract might include a release clause, making it easier for Alexander Isak’s suitors to secure his services. So, it will be interesting to see where the Swedish striker plies his trade in 12 months amid his links with PSG and other European bigwigs.
