Saudi Pro League likely next destination for Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey will likely seal a move to the Saudi Pro League in the 2025 summer transfer window after his contract with Arsenal expires.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Thomas Partey will unlikely sign a new contract with Arsenal after his current deal expires on June 30, 2025. Saudi Pro League clubs want to secure a pre-contract agreement with the Ghanaian international. The Middle East is his likely destination for the 2025 summer transfer window, with Juventus ruling out a move.

Thomas Partey and his topsy-turvy ride at Arsenal

Thomas Partey has been a dependable performer for Arsenal since arriving from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth €50 million in October 2020. While the African midfielder has struggled with fitness issues throughout his spell with the North London club, he has made his mark whenever he has been on the pitch.

The 31-year-old has turned out 120 times thus far for Arsenal while chipping in with six goals and four assists. However, Partey faces an uncertain future at the Emirates after entering the final 12 months of his contract with the North London club.

The report has claimed that Arsenal will unlikely offer the Ghanaian international a new contract when his current deal runs out. So, a new adventure is on the cards for Partey, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce keeping close tabs on his situation. However, his likeliest destination is the Saudi Pro League.

Middle East move up next?

Thomas Partey has been on the Saudi Pro League radar for a long time. The big-spending clubs from the Saudi top flight have signed many world-class players in the last 18 months, with Cristiano Ronaldo heralding a new era for the division when he completed a free transfer in January 2023.

Since then, several high-profile players have moved to the Saudi Pro League, including Neymar, Sadio Mane, and N’Golo Kante. Partey might be the next top-class player to move to the Saudi Pro League, with the Middle East being his likeliest destination. The Public Investment Fund will look to secure a pre-contract agreement with the Arsenal midfielder in January.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old has also been a target for Juventus in the last few months. However, the Serie A giants have ruled out a move for the Arsenal midfielder as Thiago Motta has a stacked midfield unit. So, the Ghanaian international might join a Saudi Pro League club when his Arsenal contract expires.
