Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will find it difficult to acquire the services of Inter Milan defensive sensation Yan Bisseck in January.
Arsenal have been linked with Inter Milan defensive ace Yan Bisseck of late. The North London club are reportedly looking to reinforce their backline and the German youth international is believed to be a top target for the club. But, according to Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, there is nothing concrete going on between the two clubs and the Gunners will struggle to sign him in the upcoming winter transfer window.
On the back of his impressive performances for Danish club Aarhus GF, Bisseck made the move to Inter Milan in the summer of 2023. The German defender hardly took any time to settle it and he racked up over 1,100 minutes in his 21 outings in his debut season at the club.
At just 23, he showcased a lot of maturity and his huge potential suggests that Bisseck could go on to become one of the best in his position. He might not be a first-choice centre-back at Inter yet but he is an important part of their squad and is expected to have a bigger role this season.
Romano’s take on Bisseck to Arsenal
While he still has close to four years left on his deal, the German defender has been linked with a move away from the club. Arsenal are the ones who are considered to be keen on signing the former Aarhus sensation. But, according to Romano, nothing is going on between the Premier League and the Serie A club. Both parties are not in talks regarding a potential transfer.
The Italian transfer expert said: “I’m aware there have been some stories linking Arsenal with an interest in Yann Bisseck, but in all honesty there is nothing at the moment,”
“No talks, no contacts, zero so far. He’s a key player for Inter and he just joined one year ago so they’re not planning for anything now, Bisseck is doing very well.”
Arsenal will find it difficult to sign Bisseck in the winter
Recent reports suggested that Arsenal were looking at the German youth international as a potential replacement for the injury-prone Takehiro Tomiyasu. The Gunners were considering making a €25 million offer to sign the 23-year-old.
But, Romano has played down those rumours. There is nothing going on between the two clubs according to the Italian journalist. Even if there is something between the two parties, Arsenal will still struggle to sign Bisseck in the winter transfer window.
Inter consider him an important part of their plans and they won’t be ready to sanction his departure mid-way through the season. With his deal running until the summer of 2028, the Italian outfit are well in control of the situation and they do not need to rush into anything.
