Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are keen on signing Turkish free agent Yusuf Yazici, but Manchester United have decided against making a move.
According to a report from HITC, Yusuf Yazici could still secure a move to the Premier League. Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are two English top-flight clubs keen on signing him, and they are plotting a Bosman move for the Turkish international.
Yusuf Yazici came up the ranks at Trabzonspor and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team. The Turk joined LOSC Lille in the summer of 2019. He had his ups and downs at the French club and spent a significant amount of time out on loan in recent seasons.
The 27-year-old was an integral part of the French club’s first team last season as he contributed towards 16 goals in his 42 outings. But, he ended up parting ways with the club at the end of the season and has been on the lookout for a new club over the past three months.
Aston Villa and Crystal Palace plot a move for Yusuf Yazici
The Turkish attacking midfielder seems keen on making a move to the Premier League and according to the report, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are interested in acquiring his services. Unai Emery’s team saw Yazici in action from up close last season as they faced Lille in the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League.
Yusuf Yazici was one of the standout players for the French club in the tie, and his performances would have surely played a big part in their interest in his services. While he is still unlikely to be a starter at the club, the Turkish international could significantly bolster their attack as he can feature on the right flank, as a number 10 as well as a number nine when needed.
Aston Villa and Crystal Palace both have space in their 25-man roster for an experienced free agent like Yazici. The Eagles lack firepower up top. They have struggled in the final third this season and the Turkish attacking midfielder could be a welcome addition to their squad. His versatility could surely help their cause.
Manchester United have pulled out of the race
Manchester United were also keen on his signature. But the Red Devils have dropped their interest as they have failed to offload Christian Eriksen. With the transfer window in Europe’s major leagues now over, the Danish international will continue at Old Trafford for now. As a result, they won’t be pushing for Yazici.
