Arsenal considering €25 million move for Yann Bisseck

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Yan Bisseck, who has fallen in the pecking order at Inter Milan, with a €25 million fee mooted.

According to Inter-Live, Arsenal could be showing an interest in yann Bisseck ahead of the January window. The Inter Milan defender has fallen in the pecking order of late under Simone Inzaghi, which could prompt the Gunners to test their resolve with a €25 million offer.

Arsenal are keen on Yann Bisseck

Arsenal have needs but certainly not a defender at this stage, considering how formidable their backline is at this point. Mikel Arteta has taken many years to build this defensive setup, and as things stand, they have one of the best backlines in world football. Hence, one would not bank on them to buy another defender when the priority remains in the attack and probably even the midfield.

Knowing Arteta, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Spanish manager does bring in a new defender, as he might feel the need to make minor changes to his personnel. For instance, Takehiro Tomiyasu has caused some concern following yet another injury in pre-season, and despite signing a new deal recently, he could be deemed dispensable.

Jakub Kiwior is another name that could depart following a period of inaction, although Arteta continues to back those two fringe stars to come good as they do add to the defensive depth in the squad. Kiwior was recently linked with Inter Milan, meaning if the Pole does depart, then they are reportedly keen on Yann Bisseck.

The 23-year-old Serie A-winning defender has been coming through in the Inter Milan setup, but of late, he has fallen in the pecking order. Inzaghi favours Mateo Darmian and Benjamin Pavard in his place at the moment, and the report states that Arsenal could make a €25 million attempt in the January window to test the Serie A Champions’ resolve for the German defender.

Will Inter Milann sell Bisseck?

Much like how Arteta considers Kiwior and Tomiyasu key to their defensive depth, Inzaghi feels the same about Bisseck. Incidentally, Inter Milan are linked with Tomiyasu, and should one of him or the Polish star leave, Arsenal view the 23-year-old Serie A-winning defender as an ideal replacement.

For now, the chances of Bisseck leaving Inter Milan in January are remote. However, should the player agitate over a move owing to a lack of guaranteed playing time, they could consider it. However, should he join Arsenal,  then even here, game time does not come in handy, as Arteta has his first choice locked in for the current season at the very least.
