Serie A champions Inter Milan are reportedly keen on signing 20-year-old English defensive prospect Jarell Quansah, valued at €20 million.
According to a report by Italian outlet Inter Live, Jarell Quansah is the subject of interest from Inter Milan. The Serie A champions are keen on signing a centre-back in the 2025 summer transfer window. The Liverpool defensive prospect has thus emerged as a target for the Serie A champions, with the Merseyside outfit valuing him at around €20 million.
Jarell Quansah and his Liverpool journey so far
Jarell Quansah has made a positive impression since breaking into the first-team squad at Liverpool FC. A native of Warrington, the Englishman has been with Liverpool since he was five years old, going from strength to strength after joining the Merseyside club’s youth division in 2008.
The 21-year-old made his first-team bow for Liverpool in January 2023 and has made significant profit in the last 18 months. Quansah has turned out 34 times thus far for Liverpool while chipping in with three goals and three assists. However, the youngster has struggled for prominence in the early days of the 2024/25 season.
Quansah began the 2024/25 season as Virgil van Dijk’s central defensive partner against Ipswich Town. However, Arne Slot took him off at half-time in that match, and the young centre-back has not returned to the field since then. Nevertheless, Jarell Quansah’s stock in the market remains high, with Inter Milan among his prospective suitors.
Serie A move on the cards?
Inter Milan’s interest in Jarell Quansah is understandable. The Serie A champions want to bolster their backline in the 2025 summer transfer window due to Francesco Acerbi’s advancing age. In addition, Stefan de Vrij is on the wrong side of 30, thus necessitating the addition of a new central defender at Inter Milan.
Quansah has thus emerged as a viable target for Inter Milan, with the 21-year-old having the potential to become the long-term centre-back solution for the Nerazzurri. Meanwhile, the English defender will not cost a bomb, with Liverpool demanding around €20 million to part ways with him in the 2025 summer transfer window.
The price tag should be affordable for Inter Milan, and a bid might be on the cards if the Englishman does not become a regular for Liverpool in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, recent reports have claimed that Liverpool might look to tie him to a new contract.
