Manchester United are reportedly considering making a move for the services of Brighton skipper Lewis Dunk next summer.
Manchester United were quite busy in the recently concluded transfer window. They made significant investments to reinforce their backline, but Erik ten Hag’s side are not done yet. They are interested in the services of Lewis Dunk and according to a report from Fichajes, the Red Devils are contemplating making a move for the Brighton skipper in the summer of 2025.
Dunk has come up the ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion, he was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2010 and has been a regular feature in their starting XI for over a decade now. The 32-year-old has established himself as one of their mainstays and has played a big part in the Seagulls establishing themselves as a competitive team in the English top flight.
He has featured in over 460 matches for Brighton, and over 250 of those have come in the Premier League. While Dunk is in the final phase of his career, Manchester United are considering making a move for his services.
The Reds Devils struggled at the back last season because of injuries to key defenders. They have undergone major changes at the back in the summer as Raphael Varane has left the club and they have managed to sign Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Manchester United considering making a move for Dunk
Despite having made significant investments to bolster their backline, Erik ten Hag is still keen on adding a more experienced central defender to his squad, and they are interested in the services of Dunk who can offer stability and security at the back.
With his contract running out in 2026, the Red Devils could secure his services for a cut-price fee next summer. As a result, they are seriously considering knocking on the doors of Brighton for the signature of the veteran English defender.
Dunk would love to make the move to Old Trafford, but he is currently focused on the task at hand. Meanwhile, Manchester United are looking at the options at their disposal and feel they could take advantage of the veteran defender’s contract situation at Brighton.
