Viktor Gyokeres dreaming of Real Madrid move

Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly harbouring the dream of joining Real Madrid, with Florentino Perez open to launching the offensive to sign the 26-year-old Swede.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Viktor Gyokeres dreams of joining Real Madrid when he leaves Sporting CP. The 26-year-old goal machine is one of the most highly sought-after players in the market, and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is open to launching the offensive to sign him from the Portuguese club.

The rapid rise of Viktor Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world since joining Sporting CP from Coventry City in July 2023. The move went under the radar 12 months ago but has been a stroke of genius from the Portuguese giants, as they have unearthed a goal machine.

The 26-year-old was unstoppable in the 2023/24 season, scoring goals for fun while also providing over a dozen assists. Gyokeres has continued from where left off last term, as he has already contributed to ten goals in only five games thus far in the 2024/25 campaign by finding the back of the net seven times and providing three assists.

The Sweden international has also been on fire this week, providing two assists and scoring one goal in his country’s 3-1 win over Azerbaijan in the UEFA Nations League. Meanwhile, Viktor Gyokeres’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. However, he dreams of moving to Real Madrid when he leaves Sporting CP.

Real Madrid move on the cards?

It is understandable why Viktor Gyokeres dreams of joining Real Madrid after leaving Sporting CP. The reigning La Liga champions are the biggest club in the world and command respect and allure from most footballers. However, moving to the Santiago Bernabeu might not be a sensible decision for the Swede.

The first-team squad at Real Madrid has world-class attackers like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo. In addition, the Merengues have signed Endrick as the long-term offensive solution, with the teenage sensation already making his mark for the first team.

So, while Florentino Perez is open to launching the offensive to sign Gyokeres from Sporting CP, it might not be a sensible move for the 26-year-old Sweden international. Nevertheless, he remains committed to the Portuguese giants for the foreseeable future.
