Liverpool and Newcastle United are in the mix with Arsenal for Bryan Mbeumo ahead of next summer, with the player likely to make a big switch.
According to Give Me Sport, Brentford will be bracing for offers coming in for Bryan Mbeumo, with a host of top Premier League clubs angling for a move next summer. The Cameroonian could be a target for Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle United in 2025.
Premier League trio chasing Bryan Mbeumo
Brentford were somewhat surprised at the fact that Bryan Mbeumo did not attract massive offers in the summer despite the player’s apparent quality and the market demand. There were a host of clubs looking at a wide attacker of the Cameroonian’s quality and profile, while there were some glancing advances.
The Bees were busy finalising the future of talismanic striker Ivan Toney, who has since left for Saudi Arabia in a £40 million deal. They are now anticipating big offers to come in for Mbeumo next summer, although, unlike Toney, the future of the Cameroonian is in Brentford’s hands.
The report states Brentford might demand in the range of £50 million to sell the winger, who has had a fabulous start to the new campaign. Mbeumo has three goals in as many games this term for Brentford, and Thomas Frank will expect him to lead the team this season in terms of goals and other metrics.
Many teams are expected to be in the mix, including Newcastle United, who had plans to sign a wide forward this past summer. They are, in fact, planning on a right-sided attacker in January, although Brentford will unlikely sell Mbeumo in the winter window. Still, they will not oppose a sale next summer.
Arsenal and Liverpool in the mix for Mbeumo
Arsenal had been looking for a new wide attacker this summer, and many suggest that Mbeumo was part of their thinking. However, the sort of profile was not an immediate requirement, although they did sign Raheem Sterling on loan. Hence, it won’t be surprising to see the Gunners enter the race for Mbeumo, as they can offer him the chance to challenge as well as stay put in London.
However, Liverpool could be a big problem for Arsenal or Newcastle United, as they could anticipate Saudi Pro League sides to come in for Mohamed Salah next summer. On paper, Mbeumo is a viable replacement for the Egyptian. Hence, the Merseysiders will keep close tabs on the £50 million-rated attacker from fellow Premier League club Brentford ahead of next summer.
