Adrien Rabiot keen on Premier League move amid Manchester United and Newcastle United links

Adrien Rabiot continues to harbour Premier League ambitions as the ‘free agent’ could still get his dream transfer to England.

According to Team Talk, Adrien Rabiot is still angling for a move to the Premier League, although his wage demands must be lowered. He has an offer from Galatasaray, which he’s ready to stall until he can get a clear answer from English suitors with Manchester United and Newcastle United linked with the Frenchman.

Adrien Rabiot wants Premier League switch

Adrien Rabiot did not cave into Juventus’s overtures, and this time around, he bid his farewell to the Turin side after a few years under Massimiliano Allegri. Since he’s a free agent, the 2022 World Cup finalist continues to demand a significant pay package, which may have hampered a big move during the summer window.

Being a free agent, Rabiot could still sign for any side given the rules are different compared to contracted professionals. He had links to the Premier League during the summer window, with Manchester United learning his wage of £10.5 million per year, which seems exceptionally high for their liking.

Newcastle United were also keen and could still have internal discussions about signing the 2022 World Cup finalist. The Magpies wanted a new defender during the window but could not bring in one owing to many factors, although they could have room for someone like Rabiot.

Rabiot has an offer from Galatasaray, although they might not be in a position to pay what he wants in their current situation. The Frenchman has not rejected the overtures of the Turkish champions, although he’s waiting to see if a move to the Premier League materialises in the coming days. However, there’s a feeling that he must reduce his demands to make the transfer, with some of the clubs likely to consider.

Manchester United or Newcastle United move seems unlikely

Manchester United under INEOS have stuck with their policy of signing players under a certain age bracket and they are unlikely to break that pattern for Rabiot. However, they could have made an exception had Casemiro left for Galatasaray, as the Brazilian does not want the switch and is keen to continue at Old Trafford. Hence, a move to the Red Devils seems unlikely for the Frenchman.

Similarly, Newcastle had sought a new midfielder and were keen on Rabiot as they anticipated at least one fundamental departure from that department. While no player left, the return of Sandro Tonali has boosted their numbers in the area. Hence, the Magpies are unlikelty to commit a hefty sum for Rabiot and sign him up on a decently long contract, meaning he could end up at Galatasaray or elsewhere.
