According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid could sell Aurelien Tchouameni next summer to fund a move for top target Rodri. While the French midfielder is considered a key star at the Santiago Bernabeu, he will not have any shortage of suitors, with Arsenal, one of the top clubs, keen on the 24-year-old Real Madrid mainstay.
Real Madrid to sell Aurelien Tchouameni?
The dust from the summer window has barely settled as new rumours are doing the rounds. The latest in the mill is about Real Madrid considering a sale of Aurelien Tchouameni next summer, as they are keen on a new defensive midfielder as, they could prioritise a move for Rodri.
Real Madrid are tempting the Manchester City star, although there is a big chance he will sign a new deal at the Etihad. However, should the Spanish giants come knocking, there is a big chance the holding midfielder will consider a switch to the Bernabeu.
Should Rodri come in, he will be guaranteed a place in the starting lineup, irrespective of how important they consider Tchouameni to be. Carlo Ancelotti believes the Frenchman is critical, but as seen in the past, Florentino Perez could sacrifice a big name in the team to land another, in this case, Rodri.
They will undoubtedly demand a massive fee in exchange and will have no reason to take a loss on their initial investment in the midfielder. Either way, the 24-year-old Real Madrid mainstay will have a massive market if he were to leave the club, with Arsenal one of those reportedly keen.
Arsenal keen on Tchouameni
Arsenal would be very keen on Tchouameni should he be made available for a transfer next summer. Thomas Partey might have stayed put at the club, but with his contract expiring next summer and no signs of the club offering a new one, Mikel Arteta would need a replacement. Hence, they might come in for the 24-year-old Real Madrid mainstay to replace the Ghanaian.
However, any deal would not be straightforward considering the other clubs who might show an interest in Tchouameni. Liverpool are still in the market for a holding midfielder after failing to sign Martin Zubimendi, and should Manchester City lose Rodri, they could be keen on the 24-year-old, too, so the Gunners will have top competition for the midfielder.
