Turkish giants Galatasaray are in advanced talks with Manchester United to sign their defensive midfielder Casemiro.
According to a report from MilliGazete, Galatasaray are looking to make another major signing before the end of their transfer window as they are in talks with Manchester United for the services of Casemiro. The Turkish giants are looking to reinforce their midfield and they are making moves to sign the Brazilian star on loan.
Casemiro made the move to the Manchester-based club in the summer of 2022 after winning it all with Real Madrid. While he had an exceptional debut for Erik ten Hag’s team, the 32-year-old has failed to live up to the expectations over the last 12 months. He has struggled for consistency for some time and he hasn’t started the 2024/25 season in the best possible way.
The Brazilian midfielder has been involved in all of their matches this term. While he has done a decent job for most parts, Casemiro has been heavily criticised for his performance against Liverpool as United were smashed 3-0 on their home turf. He was substituted at half-time after losing possession, leading to both goals conceded in the first half.
The 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club since the start of the summer. He seems to be a key figure in the team having started all their fixtures so far but his recent performances have once again resulted in a lot of talk about his future.
Casemiro to join Galatasaray?
With Manuel Ugarte joining United from PSG, the Red Devils now have another option in the centre of the park. As a result, they can afford to sanction the departure of the Brazilian who still has two years left on his deal.
While the window is Europe’s top five leagues is over, Casemiro could still be on the move with Galatasaray keen on his signature. The Turkish window remains open until 13th September and after having signed Victor Osimhen on loan, the Istanbul-based club are now looking to bring the former Real Madrid star to the club.
They want to reinforce the centre of the park. While Gala are in talks with Juventus to sign Weston McKennie, Casemiro is one of the names on their wishlist. They have already contacted the Brazilian midfielder regarding a potential move and are in talks with Manchester United to sign him on a season-long loan.
