Fabrizio Romano quashes Fenerbahce links with Antony

Manchester United winger Antony has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce this summer, although a deal might not materialise.

An update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is no truth to the reports linking Antony with Fenerbahce, and the player is not keen on an exit either. The 24-year-old winger is committed to the project at Manchester United, and he wants to stay at the club.

The Brazilian arrived at Old Trafford with great expectations, and he was expected to develop into a world-class player. The move has clearly not worked out for either party, and it would not be a surprise if Manchester United decided to cash in on him in the near future, having also considered a summer sale.

They spent a substantial amount of money on him, but the player has not been able to deliver on the pitch. Although he is still young enough to improve and get his career back on track, the 24-year-old has been largely underwhelming.

Perhaps, Antony is struggling to adapt to English football, and Manchester United might need to be more patient with him. The former Ajax attacker was regarded as a world-class talent a few seasons ago, and he will be desperate to get back to that level.

A move to Turkey might be too soon for Antony

A move to Turkey in the near future will certainly help him regain his form and confidence. The lesser quality and intensity in the Turkish Super Lig could have helped him perform better. However, the 24-year-old is determined to stay at Manchester United and prove his worth. It will be interesting to see whether he can impress the Red Devils with his performances this season.

He is at his peak, and it is natural for him to want to play at a high level. Staying at a top European club like Manchester United would be ideal for him. Manchester United will be hoping to push for major trophies this season, and they will look to secure Champions League qualification as well. They could use all the help they can get, and getting the best out of Antony will certainly help them improve.
