Casemiro is reportedly determined to fight for his place in the Manchester United squad amid widespread rumours linking him with a move to Galatasaray.
According to a report by Daily Mail, Casemiro is the subject of interest from Galatasaray. The Turkish champions are keen on signing the Manchester United midfielder before the summer transfer window shuts down in their country. However, the 32-year-old does not want to leave the Premier League club anytime soon and will fight for his future at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, a report by Fred Caldeira of TNT Sports Brazil has revealed that despite Casemiro’s links with Galatasaray, a summer move to RAMS Park will not see the light of day. The Brazilian journalist has revealed that the former Real Madrid midfielder will not leave Manchester United this month.
Casemiro and his Manchester United journey so far
Casemiro has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Manchester United from Real Madrid in August 2022. The Brazilian midfielder was a well-liked arrival two years ago and made an immediate impact at the Premier League club as he helped them return to the top four and win the EFL Cup in his debut season.
However, Casemiro’s stock has plummeted since then, with the veteran midfielder enduring a horrendous 2023/24 campaign with Manchester United. The 32-year-old displayed positive signs in Manchester United’s 2024/25 season opener against Fulham. However, he has blown hot and cold since then and had an error-strewn performance against Liverpool this past weekend.
Summer exit on the cards?
With his performances not improving much this term, widespread reports have linked Casemiro with a move away from Manchester United, considering the summer transfer window is still open in a few countries. The Brazil international has been the subject of interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray in the last few days.
Galatasaray and Manchester United have reportedly been in talks regarding a loan move for the veteran midfielder. However, Casemiro does not want to leave Manchester United anytime soon, and a departure from Old Trafford will only see the light of day in January at the earliest.
While recent reports pointed to advancing talks between Manchester United and Galatasaray regarding a deal for the 32-year-old Brazilian midfielder, he will remain at Old Trafford this month. Despite Casemiro’s struggles, the development is a positive for Manchester United as he can be a solid option off the bench after Manuel Ugarte’s arrival from Paris Saint-Germain.
