Arsenal uninterested in selling Leandro Trossard amid Saudi links

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have no intentions of sanctioning the departure of Leandro Trossard amidst interest from Al-Ittihad.

According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal are not interested in negotiating the departure of Leandro Trossard. They do not want to lose the Belgian winger in an out-of-window deal despite Al-Ittihad’s £30 million bid on the final day of their transfer window.

On the back of his consistent performances at Brighton, Trossard made the move to the North London club at the start of 2023. He hasn’t really looked back since joining Mikel Arteta’s team and has been a consistent feature for them.

While he is not one of their guaranteed starters, the 29-year-old often comes off the bench as an impact substitute for Arteta’s team. He has featured in 71 matches for the Gunners and has contributed towards 31 goals (19 goals, 12 assists).

The Belgian international is already off the mark in the new season thanks to his strike against Aston Villa. While he remains an important part of their first team setup and still has two years left on his deal, Trossard has been linked with a move away in recent days.

Arsenal won’t sell Trossard

The arrival of Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan on deadline day has put a few question marks on the former Brighton winger’s place in the team. While the transfer window in Europe’s top five leagues is already shut, there are few countries where the window remains open and Saudi Arabia is one of them.

The report suggests Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad are keen on signing the 29-year-old as they look to take their attack to the next level. They have knocked on the doors of Arsenal with a bid of around £30 million on their transfer deadline day.

While they are willing to offer a significant fee, Arteta doesn’t want to negotiate his departure at this stage. He is against losing the Belgian winger without securing a replacement as the English window is closed until January. The Spanish manager is keen on having multiple options in every position as he looks to challenge for the league title as well as the Champions League in the 2024/25 season.
