Real Madrid cooling interest in Franco Mastantuono

Real Madrid are all set to take a back seat in the race for the services of Franco Mastantuono amidst interest from Barcelona and Manchester United.

According to a report from Fichajes, Real Madrid have decided against making a move for the services of Franco Mastantuono. The South American attacking sensation finds himself on the wishlist of quite a few top clubs and Los Blancos are one of them. While they have been keen on signing him, the Spanish giants have chosen to withdraw from negotiations as certain factors have complicated the purchase.

Mastantuono has come up the ranks at River Plate and his impressive performances for their youth team haven’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs have been monitoring the teenager who was promoted to their first team at the start of the year and they are looking to prise him away from the Argentine club.

Just months after getting promoted to their senior team, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder penned down a new deal with River Plate which runs until the end of 2026. While they did manage to secure his future for a few more years, top clubs are expected to knock on the Argentine club’s door in the near future.

Real Madrid are one of the clubs that have been monitoring the Argentine youth international. Los Blancos have been focused on signing young players with huge potential in recent windows and Mastantuono is quite highly admired by the people at the Spanish club.

Los Blancos pull out of Mastantuono chase

Santiago Solari who is Real Madrid’s director of football has extensive knowledge of South American football and players from that part of the world and he had suggested the idea of signing the 17-year-old. While Real Madrid were keen and they were considering making a move, they have chosen to withdraw from the race as a series of factors have complicated a potential transfer.

The arrival of Manchester United and Barcelona in the pursuit of Mastantuono’s services has complicated things. Both European giants are always on the lookout for young players who can help them in the long run and the teenager could be a great signing for them.

Their arrival has unleashed a lot of speculations and leaks which have inflated the price of the youngster, something Los Blancos are not willing to tolerate. More importantly, a lot of rumours have been going around about the 17-year-old and River Plate which seem to be an attempt to put pressure on the Spanish giants to increase their offer.

It hasn’t really gone down well with people at Real Madrid and they have decided to not enter into any bidding war for the teenage attacking midfielder as it could hard their transfer policy.
