Hull City set to sign Ben Doak on loan

Liverpool are set to loan teenage prodigy Ben Doak to Championship side Hull City, as this move will offer a path towards building a career.

According to Dave Ockop, Hull City are set to take Ben Doak on loan from Liverpool. The teenage attacker may not see ample game time under Arne Slot this season, as a good season away from Anfield could help him get his career back on track.

Ben Doak to join Hull City

At the end of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure as Liverpool boss, the German introduced some of the academy stars into the senior arena. Ben Doak was one of those, as the club holds the teenager relatively highly for their future plans, although an injury last season prevented him from playing more games than he could have featured in.

This summer, Liverpool have opted to send some of those promising youngsters out on loan to gain valuable experience. Doak, who was seen as a backup to Mohamed Salah in Arne Slot’s system initially, may have to find another team where he can play pretty regularly in the current season.

The arrival of Federico Chiesa all but ends Doak’s hopes of minimal game time this season, as Liverpool are well-stocked in their attacking third with the Italian’s presence. The club had already thought of a loan move for the 18-year-old prodigy, and now Hull City are the side that will take him for the current campaign.

Hull City and Liverpool are close to reaching an agreement for the loan of Doak, that will let the 18-year-old prodigy experience Championship football. Should he get valuable minutes in the campaign, the winger can return as a different player next year, something Liverpool chiefs and the player himself will be hoping for,.

Hull City is a good option for Doak

While Hull City are keen to get back into the Premier League, they may not have a squad good enough to stand a chance of gaining promotion at this stage. However, it’s still a club where there’s massive pressure to perform, which will help emerging stars like Doak to thrive and learn.

He will not be the first Liverpool youngster to join the club on loan, as previously Fabio Carvalho and Tyler Morton have taken the same route. The former has got his big move to Brentford this summer, while the latter is on the periphery of first-team action at Merseyside.
