Aston Villa can sign Raphinha with a “big” offer

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa can sign Barcelona attacking sensation Raphinha with a sizeable offer on transfer deadline day.

According to a report from Football Insider, Aston Villa could secure the services of Brazilian international Raphinha on transfer deadline day as Barcelona will have to consider “big” offers for their star forward because of their financial situation.

Raphinha made a name for himself while playing for Leeds United before securing a big-money move to Barcelona two years back. He has been a consistent performer for the Spanish giants over the last two seasons.

During the 2023/24 campaign, he was involved in 37 matches and ended up contributing towards 23 goals (10 goals, 13 assists). Despite being one of their standout performers last season, the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club throughout the summer.

Raphinha has been linked with clubs from the Middle East as well as the Premier League. Despite all the reports, nothing concrete has happened so far. He seems to be an important part of Barcelona’s plans under Hansi Flick having started all three of their league games. But, the Brazilian could still be on his way out.

The report suggests Barcelona will have to consider big offers for the former Leeds United star because of their ongoing financial crisis. The Catalan giants have not been able to do much in the ongoing transfer window because of Fair Play regulations and a major outgoing could help balance their books.

Aston Villa can sign Raphinha on deadline day

Aston Villa are one of the clubs who have been linked with the 27-year-old this summer. While the Villans might not have succeeded in signing the Brazilian so far, they could still make a shocking deadline-day move for him. Barcelona’s financial situation suggests the English outfit could pull off a transfer this late in the window.

Aston Villa have signed eight players this summer as they gear up to feature in the Champions League. While they have already bolstered their attack, they are yet to sign a like-for-like replacement for Moussa Diaby, who joined Al-Ittihad earlier in the summer. Raphinha could be an exceptional signing for them. It would be a very ambitious move and a real sign of intent from Unai Emery’s team on deadline day.
