Newcastle United set demands to sanction Kieran Trippier move

Newcastle United will demand a multi-million-pound loan fee while demanding wages to be paid in full for Kieran Trippier to join Everton this summer.

According to a report by Football Insider, Kieran Trippier is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on signing a right-back before the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Newcastle United wide player. Meanwhile, the Magpies want a multi-million-pound loan fee and will tell the suitors to pay the England international’s “full wages” to sanction his move.

Kieran Trippier and his Newcastle United journey

Kieran Trippier has been a dependable performer for Newcastle United since arriving from Atletico Madrid in January 2022. The Englishman was the first signing for the Tyneside outfit during the new Saudi era of the Public Investment Fund.

The 33-year-old has made his mark in the last 30 months, although his stock has slightly fallen in 2024 amid widespread speculation surrounding his future. So, Trippier, who has turned out nearly 100 times thus far for Newcastle United, might have played his final game for the club. He contributed to 25 goals by finding the back of the net four times and providing 21 assists.

Despite Kieran Trippier’s falling stature at Newcastle United, his stock in the market remains high. Several well-known clubs, including Atalanta, have set their sights on the England international. However, the veteran wide player’s next destination might be Everton after the Merseyside club joined the chase recently.

Merseyside beckons

Everton’s interest in Kieran Trippier is understandable. The Toffees are keen on signing a right-back before the summer transfer window shuts down amid the advancing years of Ashley Young and club captain Seamus Coleman. In addition, Nathan Patterson has struggled with fitness issues throughout his spell with Everton.

So, the Merseyside club must sign a new right-back this summer, with Trippier emerging as a viable target. Everton would prefer a loan move, with Newcastle United setting the demands to part ways with him. The Magpies want a multi-million-pound fee while telling Everton to pay his wages “in full”.

Newcastle United’s stance is understandable, considering Trippier will have a year remaining on his contract next year. So, The Magpies will hope the veteran Englishman resurrects his stuttering career and secures a big-money move to a club next summer.
