West Ham United have established contact with AS Roma as they look to bring Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham United are in talks with AS Roma for the services of Tammy Abraham. The Hammers are looking further reinforce their attack, and with the former Chelsea star available for a cut-price fee, they see it as a great opportunity.
Tammy Abraham came up the ranks at Chelsea and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team and during loan spells away from the club. But things did not work out for him at Stamford Bridge, and he parted ways in the summer of 2021 to join AS Roma.
The Italian giants forked out a significant fee to bring him to the club. While he had an exceptional debut season, the former Chelsea star has not been able to return to his best as he struggled to stay fit. The 26-year-old striker still has two years left on his deal. But AS Roma seem ready to cut their losses.
Tammy Abraham was linked with a move to Everton, but things did not work out as he was not interested in a return to England. However, the arrival of Artem Dobvyk and Paulo Dybala’s decision to continue at the club has changed his stance.
West Ham pushing to sign Abraham
Tammy Abraham is now open to a return to the Premier League, and West Ham United are pushing for his services. The Hammers have signed Niclas Fullkrug this summer and already have Michail Antonio and Danny Ings in their squad.
Although they do not necessarily need another number nine, AS Roma’s willingness to sell for around €25 million presents a compelling opportunity to sign a 26-year-old with the potential to revive his career. The Hammers have already contacted Roma regarding a potential transfer and have submitted an offer very close to the asking price.
But, for now, they have started talking with Abraham as they look to convince him about their project. However, things could not get complicated because of his high wages, especially without the presence of the growth decree abroad.
