Fabrizio Romano comments on Trent Alexander-Arnold future amid Real Madrid links

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club in recent months.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is nearing the end of his contract at Anfield. So, there have been speculations that he could look to join another club, with Real Madrid keen on securing his services.

According to Fabrizio Romano on Caught Offside, Real Madrid like the Liverpool defender, and they appreciate him. However, the Spanish giants are yet to make any concrete moves to sign the England international. Meanwhile, Liverpool will look to try and extend his stay as well. It remains to be seen whether the two parties can reach an agreement quickly.

Fabrizio Romano said, “I don’t think there’s one club in the world not rating TAA… obviously all clubs like him, but Liverpool do too and Liverpool deserve respect in this story.

“They will have their chance to keep Trent at the club and extend his contract, let’s see how talks will go. Real Madrid appreciation is something I mentioned in March, but at the moment there’s nothing else fresh or concrete to add. Nothing has changed, I can guarantee that.”

The 25-year-old is one of the best right-backs in the world, and he would improve any team in world football. So, it is hardly surprising that Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged as a target for Real Madrid.

Liverpool must keep Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool cannot afford to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold at this stage of his career. The defender is entering his peak years, and he could play his best football in the coming seasons. Liverpool must do everything in their power to hold on to him for as long as possible. Apart from being a quality performer, Alexander-Arnold is one of the leaders of the Liverpool dressing room as well, and he is expected to captain the club in the near future.

The England international is blessed with an unique skill set, and his ability to create goal scoring opportunities from the deep and chip in with match winning contributions consistently makes him an invaluable asset. The opportunity to play for a club like Real Madrid can be quite attractive for most players, and it will be interesting to see if the England international is tempted to join them.

Real Madrid are yet to follow up on their interest with an official proposal. It is fair to assume that Alexander-Arnold could be keen on continuing with his boyhood club for now. He has won every major trophy with them already. But the Englishman will look to cement his legacy as a club legend now.
