West Ham United contact Tammy Abraham for late summer move

West Ham United have asked for information regarding Tammy Abraham, who may have softened his stance over a return to England.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, West Ham United have made another enquiry for Tammy Abraham ahead of the final days of the transfer window. The Hammers had an interest in the AS Roma forward, with the Serie A side open to a sale.

West Ham United make Tammy Abraham enquiry

West Ham are still active in the market, with word of a potential move for midfielder Carlos Soler doing the rounds in the media reports. However, there might be the off chance that they could bring in another striker before the window shuts as they are probably reviving an interest in Tammy Abraham from earlier.

Abraham was not interested in a return to England earlier this month, as some reports stated he rejected an approach from Everton. That stance has reportedly changed with the days gone by, as his preference to join AC Milan might not be relevant in the final days of the window as the Rossoneri are unlikely to bring the former Chelsea man.

West Ham have made another enquiry for Abraham, with AS Roma reportedly wanting around €23-25 million for the attacker. The arrival of Artem Dobvyk and the subsequent decision from Paulo Dybala to stay put has changed the equation for the 26-year-old in the Italian capital.

The report also suggests that suitors like West Ham could even sign the €23-25 million-rated striker for less than the reported asking price. Roma do not plan to keep the attacker and could sell him for a lower fee as they continue to trim their squad.

West Ham move for Abraham unlikely?

West Ham United boss Julen Lopetegui may feel the need for a new midfielder or even a defender before the window shuts, although a need for a new striker is not a pressing issue. They have signed Niclas Fullkrug, which may have been the result of Abraham seemingly rejecting the idea of returning to England.

Moreover, Michail Antonio has started the opening two games of their season, and with Danny Ings also on their books, Lopetegui may not want another forward. However, should they find a solution for the latter, a move for Abraham cannot be ruled out at this stage, especially for the price he is available for.
