Manor Solomon is reportedly inching closer to joining Leeds United on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur, and he will undergo a medical on Saturday.
According to an update by reputed journalist David Ornstein on The Athletic, Manor Solomon is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The 25-year-old will join the Yorkshire club on a season-long loan deal, with the Whites not retaining an option to complete a permanent deal next summer. The Tottenham attacker will undergo his medical at Elland Road on Saturday.
Manor Solomon and his Tottenham troubles
Manor Solomon has seen his progress come to a grinding halt since joining Tottenham Hotspur in a Bosman move last summer after his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk expired. A native of Kfar Saba, he spent his formative years in Israel and graduated from the youth division at Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Tottenham secured Solomon’s services after his successful loan spell with Fulham. However, an untimely knee injury hampered his progress in the 2023/24 season, and he has managed only 280 minutes of game time across six appearances for Tottenham Hotspur.
Manor Solomon’s injury-riddled absence affected his stature, and he has dropped to the bottom of the pecking order at Tottenham. The North London giants have been ready to part ways with the Israeli international in the summer transfer window. However, he will depart from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on loan in the coming week, with Leeds United closing in on signing him.
Move across England on the horizon
Leeds United’s interest in Manor Solomon is understandable. The Whites have lost Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter in the summer transfer window and are keen on bolstering the offensive department in the final week of the window.
Solomon has thus emerged as a viable target for Leeds United, with the EFL Championship outfit closing in on signing him on a season-long loan deal. After Tottenham opened up to the idea of loaning the 25-year-old attacker, smaller clubs became an option for the out-of-favour forward.
The Israeli international has turned down Getafe as he wanted to remain in England. That should soon materialise, as Solomon will undergo his medical at Leeds United on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Whites do not have the option to convert the deal into a permanent transfer next year.
