Liverpool plotting late move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Liverpool are reportedly considering a late move for Napoli’s star attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, although any deal will be unlikely.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool could ponder a late offer for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli. The attacker is a highly coveted target for many other top clubs, but Napoli’s stance could prevent an exit for the 23-year-old Georgian attacker.

Liverpool to target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been a sensational performer for Napoli for two seasons running. His terrific displays during their title-winning 2022-23 Serie A campaign earned him the MVP award in the Italian league, while he was a bright spark in an abject season for the defending champions last time out.

As Napoli struggled to defend their title, Kvaratskhelia scored 11 times and provided 9 assists. He has been on the radars of many teams, with Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly approaching for his signature earlier in the window, only for the Naples side not to bother considering anything that came their way.

Liverpool were recently linked with Ademola Lookman, which is a hint that they are seeking a wide attacker before the window shuts. Now, the Kvaratskhelia links have emerged again. However, they will find it extremely tough to sign the 23-year-old highly-rated attacker, especially considering Napoli are set to lose Victor Osimhen between now and the deadline day.

While Kvaratskhelia will undoubtedly improve their left-flank over the likes of Luis Diaz, the signing of the Georgian international is near impossible, especially at this stage of the window. Hence, Liverpool should not waste the precious little time left in the window on a player who will not be allowed to leave Naples this summer.

Liverpool transfer plans

While there have been numerous links to different players, Liverpool are still not really active in this market. Fans have grown frustrated by the idea of finishing the summer without any senior signing. However, the post-dated and expected arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili may not count for this summer.

They are showing no signs of signing a new defensive midfielder, while there are loose links to a new centre-back arrival. As things stand, Liverpool are primed to end the window without any notable names coming through the door, although should they sign someone to fill their squad depth, fans may not be surprised.
