West Ham United secure agreement with Carlos Soler

West Ham United have reportedly reached an agreement with Carlos Soler ahead, with the PSG star open to joining the Londoners.

According to L’Equipe, West Ham United have reportedly secured an agreement with PSG for the signing of Carlos Soler. The 27-year-old Ligue 1 ace does not have a place in Luis Enrique’s side ahead of the new season, with the Spaniard open to joining the Londoners.

West Ham to sign Carlos Soler

West Ham have done some tremendous deals in this window. The club have found a new direction under Julen Lopeteguii, and many of the new arrivals seem like his idea of squad building. From Niclas Fullkrug to Jean-Clair Todibo, all their new signings scream quality, which will help them this season.

There could be more before the transfer deadline, as a new midfielder could be on the cards. Since the start of August, West Ham had sights on Carlos Soler, with the 27-year-old Ligue 1 ace still a player many clubs would like to have for his quality.

West Ham enquired about the midfielder this week, and it appears that talks have concluded that the Hammers have reportedly agreed on a deal with PSG. Luis Enrique does not see the Spaniard in his plans going forward, as he prefers different sets of midfielders like Warren Zaire-Emery, Marco Asensio and Kang-In Lee.

The report suggests that West Ham have agreed to pay a fee of nearly €25 million, including bonuses, which PSG chiefs will also see as reasonable. The Parisians had spent around €18 million to Valencia two years prior, as the agreement with the Hammers nets them a decent profit on their original outlay.

Soler keen to play under Lopetegui

Lopetegui still holds a considerable reputation among Spanish players, and Soler is seemingly excited to play under the former Sevilla boss. The 27-year-old Ligue 1 ace brings something missing in this West Ham squad, although they have a good set of dynamic midfielders.

Lopetegui will hope Soler’s presence brings out the best in other stars like Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse, as the manager is looking to add a different profile here. Moreover, Soler’s ability to play different midfield positions allows the Hammers boss to change shapes, keeping the 27-year-old in mind.
