Newcastle United rival Manchester United in Adrien Rabiot chase

Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of Manchester United midfield target Adrien Rabiot.

While we are slowly heading towards the final week of the transfer window, Newcastle United are looking for opportunities to make some statement signings. According to a report from CaughtOffside, the Magpies are looking at Adrien Rabiot as someone who can help strengthen their midfield.

Rabiot came up the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain and made a name for himself while playing for their first team. He left the club as a free agent to join Juventus in the summer of 2019. After five long years of service at the Italian outfit, he decided to end his stint at the Turin-based club after the end of the 2023/24 season.

He decided against renewing his deal and walked away as a free agent. Rabiot is only 29, he still has a lot of football left in him and clubs from across Europe are trying to lure him to their club. Given how consistent he was for Juventus and what he has done for France in recent years, he could be a marquee signing for any top club.

Manchester United are one of the clubs that have been linked with the French international. The Reds Devils are looking for more quality in the centre of the park. Rabiot’s experience and his ability to feature in multiple roles is what attracts Erik ten Hag’s team’s interest.

Newcastle making moves to sign Rabiot

But, the Manchester-based club are all set to face competition from Newcastle United who look quite serious about their pursuit of Rabiot. The Magpies seek more quality in the centre of the park as Eddie Howe looks to bounce back after a disappointing season last time out as they missed out on Champions League football.

The French star craves UCL football and it could prove to be a major hurdle for the Magpies who couldn’t secure European football last season. With other top clubs also keen on signing him, the Tyneside club are prepared to offer him a lucrative deal. They have offered him a three-year deal. Rabiot still has time on his hands and he is looking to examine every offer on the table before deciding his future.
