Manchester United agree deal to sign Sekou Kone

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to sign Malian prodigy Sekou Kone from Guidars FC and will go straight into the youth sides.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have agreed to sign Sekou Kone from Malian side Guidars FC. The teenager will come straight into their youth squads, preferably between the U18s and U21s, as the Red Devils continue their project to build their teams below the pecking order.

Sekou Kone to join Manchester United

Manchester United, under INEOS, have shown they have put behind the impulsive style of transfer business and adopted a different approach. The new management has stabilised things for the club internally and outside in the market, where they are not overpaying for players anymore.

They have adopted a policy to sign players of a younger profile, as seen in their first-team recruitment this summer. Manchester United’s senior signings have all been under the age of 25, which allows them to build a good enough squad for the future that could challenge for major honours.

Meanwhile, they are also focused on building their youth squads, with some key signings already executed this summer. Samuel Lusale signed for Manchester United, while Chido Obi Martin arrived from Arsenal, with the latter already considered an exciting talent for the future.

They have now agreed on a move for 18-year-old (2006 born) midfield prodigy Sekou Kone from Malian club Guidars FC. The idea comes after excellent scouting through their vast network to identify talents deep within the football pyramid.

Sekou is a future star for Manchester United

Sekou is highly rated in Africa and Mali, with Manchester United seemingly getting their hands on a target they might believe is closer to breaking into the first team. After arriving from Mali, the midfielder will join their youth ranks, but he could take advantage of the club’s ageing midfield.

Manchester United are close to signing Manuel Ugarte, who does play in a position similar to Kone. However, the Malian prodigy could push the Uruguayan for a place and play alongside Kobbie Mainoo in Manchester United’s future sides.
