Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer Jakub Kiwior plus €50 million for Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman, with Liverpool also keen.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Arsenal are showing a late interest in Ademola Lookman and are preparing a formula to test Atalanta’s resolve. The Gunners are willing to offer €50 million plus defender Jakub Kiwior to the Serie A side, with Liverpool also keen on the Nigerian attacker.
Arsenal ponder Ademola Lookman offer
Arsenal have done some decent transfer business so far, and they are eager to close more deals before the end of the window. They are inching closer to signing Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad, while a solution for Aaron Ramsdale’s future is also on their agenda.
For long periods, the Gunners have been linked with signing a new attacker, with constant debates about whether that should be a striker or a winger. Ideally, they are likely to buy only one of those profiles, with a wide attacker understood to be more of a pressing need than a centre-forward.
Ademola Lookman has emerged as a late target for the Gunners, with the report stating that they are willing to offer €50 million plus Jakub Kiwior. Atalanta are reportedly demanding a fee of €65-70 million for the 26-year-old, which on paper would suit Arsenal in their offering for the Nigerian forward.
Liverpool are also keen on Lookman, as reports state that a late attacking arrival could be possible at Anfield during this window. Whether Arne Slot rates a wide attacker as a priority remains the question, and the more pressing need is for a holding midfielder. Alternatively, the report also states that the widespread interest in the 26-year-old could also pressure Atalanta into offering him a new deal.
Kiwior future uncertain
The arrival of Riccardo Calafiori has likely put an end to Kiwior’s time at Arsenal, despite the Polish defender performing well during his 18 months here. Crystal Palace and Juventus are keen, while more clubs are expected to chase the defender in the latter stages.
Fabrizio Romano recently commented the defender might depart, and should he make a move, Italy might be his preferred destination. Arsenal valued Kiwior higher than what they paid for him 18 months ago. If their offer for Lookman has any credibility, they might slightly achieve their valuation for the Polish international.
