The Magpies are keen on signing a centre-back before the summer transfer window shuts down. They have established contacts to sign the young FC Toulouse defender, with the Ligue 1 outfit demanding around €18-20 million to part ways with him.

Logan Costa is one of the most promising young defenders in Ligue 1 right now. The French-born defender spent his formative years in France before graduating from the youth division at Stade de Reims. He has been with Toulouse since August 2021, coming leaps and bounds in the last three years at the club.
The 23-year-old has chosen to represent Cape Verde internationally, considering chances with the French national side would have come few and far between. Costa has turned out 57 times thus far for Toulouse while chipping in with four goals and two assists.
