According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, German Barbas is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The 16-year-old wonderkid represents CA Penarol, the same club that Federico Valverde hails from. And the teenage sensation has drawn comparisons with his compatriot with his exploits for the Carboneros.
Barbas recently spoke about the comparisons to Federico Valverde, saying, “I pay a lot of attention to Fede Valverde, especially because of where he came from, because he’s Uruguayan and because I’d also like to play in Europe at the level he plays. Since I was little, at ten years old, they called me Pajarito just like him, they always saw some resemblance to me.”
