Fulham table £20 million bid to sign Joachim Andersen

Marco Silva’s Fulham submitted a £20 million bid for the services of Crystal Palace defensive mainstay Joachim Andersen.

According to David Ornstein, Fulham are looking to reinforce their backline before the transfer deadline and have their eyes on Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen. The Danish international has been a key part of the Eagles’ first team setup and the Cottagers have tabled a £20 million bid to bring him back to the club.

Andersen joined the Eagles in the summer of 2021 on the back of an impressive loan spell at Fulham. He has gone from strength to strength since permanently moving to England. The 28-year-old has become a key figure in their backline. He was involved in 40 matches last season and racked up over 3,500 minutes.

Fulham want defensive reinforcement

With just two years left on his deal, Premier League clubs are looking to raid Palace for his signature. The Cottagers are one of the clubs interested in signing the Danish centre-back. He has already played for them and is already aware of how things work at the club. As a result, they are confident, he could get going from the start.

Marco Silva’s team have already added Jorge Cuenca to their ranks but they only have three out-and-out centre-backs in their squad and they are desperate to add more depth to the department before the next season kick starts.

They are yet to replace Tosin Adarabioyo who left the club to join Chelsea as a free agent following the expiry of his contract. They want to bring in someone who has a strong physical presence and more importantly, has the experience of doing it in the Premier League.

Fulham submit offer for Joachim Andersen

Andersen did well for Fulham during his loan spell at the club and they are confident about bringing him to the club as he has been consistent for Palace over the years.

While the Cottagers submitted £20 million for his services last night, the Eagles are looking for a fee close to £40 million. Talks between the two clubs are expected to continue as the Danish international is quite high on their wishlist.
